Hi, I am betamyr, and I have started to play poker (i.e. Poker Texas Hold´em No Limit) more than 25 years ago, while I played some other poker cash games already almost 30 years ago. Poker comes and goes, and in 2026, I re-discovered my passion, playing my very first live poker tournament after a break of many years. This was at the Play Live Poker Event early March around the Grand Prix.

Since it was the first live event result that got tracked by Hendon Mob, it is also the starting point for my Hendon Mob profile. Prior to that, I have played about 6000 tournaments online (mainly on PokerStars but also Everest and FullTilt), and about 1 million hands at cash games. I used to play mainly as a student at LMU Munich (I obviously had nothing better to do at that time, at least for a couple of years).

I was always a winning player but not in the sense that I could make a good living. But as a student, it was good enough to survive – which is already a big achievement, given that more than 90% of all players are indeed losing!

I have read many books, being an avid reader, like Harrington on Hold´em, Slansky´s Theory, Gus Hansen´s Every Hand, etc. pp. Currently, I am studying Jonathan Little´s Secrets, since I wanna build a bigger bankroll again, going from 100 to 10000$. I am certainly going to document this feat here on my poker blog!

Apart from playing mainly “on demand” tournaments on ACR Poker, trying to be good enough on the leaderboard for the weekly 50$ bonus, I am a triathlete by hobby, having raced close to 50 events. From sprint over Olympic distance, to middle distance and Ironman (8 of them), I have done it all.

This means that I have a lot of patience and endurance, I have a very strong mindset which seems to help me at live poker events as well. I somehow know that I am going to have big money finishes at live events one day with my next attempt at the APLPT Queensland in May 2026.
