I was surprised to see that I get a regular extra 50$ from ACR Poker, and so I got curious about how this happened. It turned out that I made the weekly Sit & Crush Leaderboard that ranks players who can collect points playing “sit-and-go” tournaments or the rather new “on demand” MTT tournaments.
Looking at last week´s results, at a bit less than 900$ buy-ins, I collected 200 points which is about 2.5 the amount of points that were required for the 50$ bonus, since 80 points would have been sufficient. Can I deduct from this fact that I would have received the 50$ extra, if I had played only on-demand tournaments amounting to a total buy-in of about 360$? I don´t think so, because I am at around 330$ buy-ins this week (which is halfway), and I have collected only about 54 points, so far.

This is because the points are calculated based on the pots and rakes you generate. Maybe I was playing rather “tight” in the last week, so I generated less rake and received only about 50% of the points compared to this week?
I am not sure but will watch this, and I definitely wanna make sure to receive this extra money because it boosts my ROI! My rough calculation based on my buy-ins is that I need to invest about 5-6$ to receive one point. Currently at ABI 6-8, this would mean that I need to invest at least 500$ per week to receive the required 80 points or play daily 10-12 events (or rebuy, where necessary) at ABI 7.
This will be my benchmark for the next weeks, and I will update this post to see, if my calculations where right, so that other players can also earn the extra 50$. By the way, you can also earn 125, 250, or even 500$, if you only play enough! However, for me, even 125$ would mean a much higher time and money investment which is totally out of scope.
Just to give you an idea: the first person who has received the 125$ bonus, collected more than 320 points. This means that I would have needed to play at least 50-60% more. Given the fact that I had played about 20 hours, I would have ended up playing 4.5 hours a day OR a much higher ABI. I don´t say that this is not possible but again, this is just to give you and myself an idea.
Midterm and longterm, I totally think that 320 points and more are possible for me to also cash in the 125$ bonus. A sustainable combination could be an ABI of 30-40$ at 2 hours a day and 8-10 events which would mean a total invested capital of more than 2200$ to receive 125$ – but this is at the higher end. I think that an ABI of 20-25$ might be already sufficient, so the “sweet spot” is anywhere between 1500 and 2000$ weekly invested capital, I believe.
In the end, you will get around 5-10% “rakeback”, and this is really what it is. Back in the day, at PokerStars, I also calculated with and relied on the rakeback heavily. Without it, my hourly reate would have been much worse. So, this programme is actually very attractive for regulars, and at currently 500-1000$ invested capital per week, I am definitely happy about the extra 50$!
If playing 8-12 events at currently ABI 7 give me that 50$ extra, then I am easily looking at 10% “money back” on my capital invested – this is actually a very nice profit, given that I am absolutely able to play at around 10%, if focused. This would mean a 20% profit in total, or weekly at least 100$.
