I have found my way back into Poker after a few years break, and I am happy to say (or rather write) that I am still a winning player. However, with wins in Poker, you also have to face a lot of downswings, esp. when you play turbo Sit n Gos and Cash Games.
I can deal well with it because I became a much more resilient person in the past years. This has a lot to do with the fact that I am an endurance athlete and race triathlons all over the world. You learn how to sustain pain, learn how to deal with challenges and try to stay positive.
You have to believe in the process and progress!
After a good 100 tournaments on ACR Poker, I am looking at an ROI of around 18% with around 4.8$ average stake. Funny enough, on 3.30$ level I am losing but on 6.60 and 11 I am winning – I know that the sample size is far too small but this is similar to what I have experienced back in the day with SnG and MTT tournaments on Pokerstars.
What´s also similar: upswings, followed by downswings, followed by upswings:

What I really like is the fact that I am able to outplay the final table often times which goes back to a lot of poker theory, watching videos but also a lot of experience. Having played close to 6000 events and a good million hands in general, there is a lot of poker memory as well as intuition that can help to make better decisions.
I truly believe that this is going to help me a lot during live events in the future, and I am visualizing to play a final table at a bigger live event one day! I will document my journey to this final table here and hope to inspire some people who are reading this to become a better poker player, mastering the many “pokerswings” along the way and becoming a winning player!
In the meantime, I have also found some regulars on ACR that inspire me to follow their suit – kudos to “yowagwan” and esp. “WonAndGooo“.

My next milestone is to reach the first 1000$ profit on ACR Poker and at that rate, I might be reaching this in about 3-4 months, hopefully earlier. I will also play a couple of live events again, aiming for 1-2 per month. I will certainly keep you posted here!
